Johnnie Cochran
 

Since the beginning of his career in 1963, Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. has been making history both inside and outside of the courtroom. As one of the nation's leading authorities on criminal justice, Cochran is at the forefront of the top criminal lawyers in this country. From Michael Jackson, Reginald Denny, and the Oklahoma City case to the world renowned O.J. Simpson trial of the decade, Cochran has been making headlines.

In all, Cochran has won more than $40 million for his clients - and about $1 million annually for himself. He has also been instrumental in bringing about changes in police procedure, such as a lawsuit that led to the 1982 outlawing of the carotid choke hold used by the LAPD. 

As a crusader for advocating social change, Cochran is known for his success in winning one of the largest jury verdicts in the history of Los Angeles. Outside of the courtroom, Cochran is the celebrated founder of one of the largest domestic violence centers in the nation.
