A three-member panel of the Michigan Attorney Discipline Board has unanimously found in an opinion to be released today that Geoffrey Fieger did not commit misconduct when he criticized Jackson County Judge Chad Schmucker.Fieger said at a news conference in 1994 that Schmucker and Gov. John Engler were conspiring to have him disbarred because of his representation of Jack Kevorkian during a trial in which he represented farmers who charged power lines were damaging hogs.
The discipline panel headed by Southfield attorney Lee Turner rejected Schmucker's complaint citing Fieger's constitutional rights to free speech.
